This was one of the more involved projects I’ve worked on for SSIS. Many schools have interactive slideshows or campus tours on their websites. But I must say, I think ours is the most detailed and comprehensive that I’ve seen online. Using a variety of cameras and software, I shot and developed this fully interactive, 360°, virtual reality campus tour. It is both a labor of love and an ever-evolving project in progress.
To produce the images, I used a DJI OSMO camera and then stitched the 30 or so images together with a program called PTGui Pro and color corrected in Photoshop. These 360° images were then imported into a program called PanoTour Pro to produce the interactive tour, and finally uploaded to our servers. Today, we use a dedicated 360° camera called a Ricoh Theta S, which is very nice. However, it does not capture nearly the resolution of the multiple OSMO images, which is what I think (along with an intuitive menu system and integrated video) makes the SSIS tour really stand out.
