"THE TIGER CAGES" Documentary

In 2015, I began researching the story of a notorious prison system located on the Côn Đảo Archipelago, off the southern coast of Vietnam. These detention centers were used by the French, the Americans, and the South Vietnamese government to contain and torture political prisoners. Working with writer Dave Fox, I spent the next several years visiting the site, interviewing local residents and former prisoners, and capturing the horrific story of the prisons known as The Tiger Cages. I also spoke with Cao Nguyên Lói, U.S. Sen. Tom Harkin, and Don Luce — three courageous men who were instrumental in exposing the truth about The Tiger Cages, bringing about the permanent closure of the system, and ultimately changing the direction of the Vietnam War.
