As part of SSIS’ application process to be designated an Apple Distinguished School, I designed and developed a multi-touch iBook® (SSIS – Leading the Way in Innovation) documenting the school’s commitment to the five best practices of an Apple Distinguished School: visionary leadership, innovative learning and teaching, ongoing professional learning, compelling evidence of success and a flexible learning environment.

I’m happy to say the school was given this prestigious award, and we had a short celebration recently, which I documented below:

Being named an Apple Distinguished School will provide our teachers with enhanced opportunities for professional development and we can expect an increase of visitors from other schools to come see all the exciting things we are doing at SSIS.
